IMPACT ANEMIA ON PREGNANT WOMEN WITH INCIDENT OF LOW BIRTH WEIGTH

ABSTRAK
Anemia in pregnancy is a condition in women with hemoglobin levels below 11 g% at 1 and 3 or trimeter levels <10.5 g% in trimeter 2. Anemia in pregnancy is more common in pregnancy because of the need for nutrients increases and changes occur in the blood and bone marrow. Needs of the mother during pregnancy was 800 mg of iron, in which 300 mg to 500 mg fetal placenta and maternal erythrocytes to increase. Thus, mothers need extra approximately 2-3 mg iron / day. There are several conditions that cause iron deficiency anemia, for example: chronic infections, liver disease, and thalassemia. Anemia in pregnancy influences unfavorable to the mother during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum and future. Complications that can arise due to anemia is a miscarriage, premature birth, delivery time due to fatigue in the muscles of the uterus to contract, postpartum hemorrhage due to lack of uterine muscle contraction, shock, infection, both in labor and post-partum, and anemia weight (<4 g%) can lead to cardiac decompensation. In addition, hypoxia caused by anemia can lead to shock and death in women in labor is difficult, although not bleeding. Keyword : Anemia, Pregnancy, infant congenital
