Labor is one of the normal and natural events on the women's life cycle. The application of position in labor as one of the care, given to mothers in labor are expected to help labor progress normally and naturally.
In the standard procedure for the implementation of the care of vaginal birth, when preparing the mother and family to help with the process of birth, midwives have to help mothers take position accordingly (do not ask the mother lying on her back or supine position). There is no single position for labor.
Midwives must understand that birth is a normal process, natural and healthy is also a dynamic and interactive process. In addition women have the right to give birth free of medical intervention such as Sectio Caesarea. Born safely can occur at home, maternity clinics and hospitals. When the midwife performs an action or provide an alternative choice of action must be based on evidence based, patient needs and realize that the birth took place is physiological.
Based on historical as well as for the results of the study, have been known to supine position during pregnancy and birth giving a negative impact for the supply of oxygen to the fetus. Therefore the alternative birthing positions's election must be made for the mother birthing positions other than supine.
