This research is based on fact that tourism sector becomes a reliable sector with respect to the effeort of alleviating poverty. Bandungan area is one of the area of tourism that growth very fast, but the other side the contribution of tourism sector not yet assign value added the quality of life especially to alleviating the poverty. The aims of this research are to knows the role of the society in tourism activity that can generate the income of the community through job oppurtunity. This research use d qualitative approach to understand opinion, and view of the society that related to the role of the society in developing the tourism industry in Bandungan. The data pick up with in depth interview, focus group disscussion (FGD), and also observation. The result of this research incated that the role of society in developing tourism in Bandungan are based on many Small, Medium and Micro Enterprised (SMME). The potential of SMME have not beeb supported with existence of integrity between SMME and also with goverment and investor. For the future it is need collaborated or patnership between society goverment and investor.
