Abstract
This community service activity was conducted at Ngrawan Village, Getasan
District, Regency of Semarang with two main programs, namely (1) Revitalization
of Cross-Cultural Awareness and (2) Guidance to Permit Proposal of ‘Kamila’
Milky Soap Home Industry. It has been commonly known that Ngrawan Village is
a tourist destination consisting of natural scene, arts performance of transitional
dances and homestays in order for the tourists or visitors to learn the rural lives,
such as farming and cattle breeding. This triggered the Community Service Team
of Unissula in collaboration with that of Unisbank to conduct the programs as
stated above to expand the scope of tourism industry for a larger reach of both
domestic and international visitors. A special training on cross-cultural awareness
to the members of Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Club) was carried out to better
equip them with cross-cultural issues. In addition, guidance was given to propose
production permit of ‘Kamila ‘ Milky Soap Home Industry in order to be able to
expand both production and marketing. Responses to these community service
programs are all positive. Local people become more aware of cross-cultural
differences; meanwhile, ‘Kamila’ Milky Soap Home Industry has been awarded
BIN: 9120201482921. Therefore, it is recommended that more religious, social
aspects for the local people be revisited and ‘Kamila’ Milky Soap Home Industry
be directed to BPOM permit in the next community service.
